Title:

Delivering Strategic Procurement Support

Client:

Housing for Women

Details:

Housing for Women wanted to take a more strategic and compliant approach to procurement, with stronger financial control and greater value for money. PML Group was engaged to review, develop, and enhance their procurement framework to support these goals.

PML began with a detailed spend analysis covering 12 months of activity, identifying key suppliers, categorising spend, and highlighting areas of ‘leakage’ or ad-hoc purchasing outside formal contracts. Working collaboratively with the client, we developed an updated Procurement Policy, Strategy, and Planner; revised Contract Standing Orders and Financial Regulations; and produced comprehensive guidance documents, templates, and compliance tools to embed consistent best practice.

Outcomes:
  • A clear, strategic procurement framework aligned with organisational objectives
  • Enhanced financial control and greater transparency of spend
  • Reduction in contract ‘leakage’ and improved sourcing discipline
  • Strengthened compliance and governance across all procurement activities
  • Increased efficiency through standardised processes and templates
  • Empowered internal teams with the capability to manage procurement strategically
  • A sustainable platform for continuous improvement and long-term value for money
