Strong leadership, the ability to understand and respond to shifts in the environment, robust decision making, a focus on continuous improvement and an agile operating model. PML can support Business Leaders and Senior Managers to determine their strategic direction

Risk Management, Assurance and Governance Review

With drive for change and the added derivative of enhanced quality, there is a need to ensure that the outcome is assured or at the least, capable of controlled rectification should planned or unforeseen changes take place.

PML Involvement

PML will formulate a process that is capable of easy application and relatively simple to maintain. A strong emphasis is placed on using risk analysis, where we use the tools of identification, estimation, modelling and evaluation

Our expertise will also cover management planning, mitigating, resourcing, controlling, monitoring and the creation of organisational risk management framework

Operational Development

The purpose of the Management of Risk is to help a decision maker understand a situation and interpret the likely outcomes from making that decision. These issues are usually viewed separately but can be integrated to produce a solution that has been fully considered and capable of effective management. Involved in the review process will be looking at how decision making is taken and embedded into the business, how evidence is collected and collated, and how the systems in place within the organisation are directed and controlled. The integrity of the business will always be underpinned by robust and reliable data

Specific requirements and areas of key focus will be addressed through the initial consultation

Business Strategy Development

An organisation’s strategy will be its management’s game plan for strengthening performance. Each business requires a vision, a mission, a purpose. Once this is determined, a culture can form

PML Involvement

We will identify and assess your current processes and develop these in partnership with you to provide more customer and market focused, sustainable and efficient ones. Working with you to scope target markets, prioritise customers and opportunities, we will assist you to develop credible workload pipelines, a balanced approach, and a clearer analysis of finance, operations and culture

Operational Development

Developing your business takes the systems thinking approach – everything within your organisation and its working environment is interrelated and therefore determines the outputs of the whole system. One example of the way to represent these cause and effect relationships is to use a strategy map, which can be the basis of the balanced scorecard approach. Creating bespoke engagement plans for each customer to improve understanding, insight, and to build utterly compelling propositions for target customers, is a major focus area

Specific requirements and areas of key focus will be addressed through the initial consultation

Business Planning

Business planning is a key part of creating a successful business, and will lay out a written plan from a marketing, financial and operational viewpoint. It is important for a business to define its direction, and in turn identify its resources and control mechanisms

PML Involvement

PML will set out clear goals, determining the actions to achieve those goals (or in essence, creating a pattern of activity) and will create the decision-making tools you will need for continual development. PML have a proven track record in providing advice and support to help develop businesses and map out the direction that they need to go in. Robust decision making, a focus on continuous improvement and an agile operating model is what we will provide in order to support Senior Managers to maximise value from all areas of their business

Operational Development

Developing business plans is, simply, about getting results. It will enable you to assess your performance, highlight areas of key focus, assess ongoing resource allocation, anticipate issues and develop your business strategy. It will work as a continuous working tool that you can use to help you run the business, revising and updating the plan over time, and ultimately optimise growth; whatever the direction you wish your business to take

Specific requirements and areas of key focus will be addressed through the initial consultation

Procurement Strategy and Implementation

Often an organisation will have either no established procurement process or one that is not offering them the best value for money; buying what is needed without purchase orders, for example, resulting in a lack of cost management. But any business needs to establish the direction of how procurement should be organised in order to implement the procurement policy

PML Involvement

PML will identify and help you establish the correct hierarchy chain for approvals so that each transaction can be traced back to its origins and requirements. We will help you to develop and implement measurable targets, and build your capabilities in delivery and execution; both during active projects and continuing after our consultants have shared their recommendations

Operational Development

We engage at a deep level across our clients’ businesses, assessing gap, resource and opportunity analysis. We can work with small teams to build the capabilities, systems, and processes needed to deliver bottom-line results and then ensure those results will be sustained. Our work is about coaching and delivering lasting outcomes that will enable you to continue to re-evaluating your purchasing activities

Specific requirements and areas of key focus will be addressed through the initial consultation

Capital programming, or financial planning, is likely to be increasingly guided by your business plan

Our assistance will enable you to concentrate on strategic issues, while we manage the delivery of efficient and effective operational activities, extracting tangible benefits and adding value throughout the life-cycle of the programme. We will put in place analysis and future spending plans for long-term progression

Specific requirements and areas of key focus will be addressed through the initial consultation

Process Mapping and Improvement

Process Mapping is a visual way of representing the key steps taken during a process or project, and can be made up of many different parts. It allows us to identify and understand all of the customer touch points. A customer receives something of value from the process, and as such, the supplier must deliver a product of value to the process

PML Involvement

The process/project that is going to be mapped out needs to be clearly identified before the exercise begins, so that all parties are involved and understand the role that they will play. PML will assist you to ensure that the team are in place and that the process moves from task to task, and importantly to ensure that data is collected and decisions are made along the way. The process will allow us to identify and manage risks and constraints, contractor requirements and customer needs. Regular monitoring, subsequent updates and scheduling and resource reviews will all form a part of the process mapping, in order to make necessary improvements in accordance with the time frames

Operational Development

The services will be designed to evoke desired customer behaviours at each stage of the mapping process. A typical process map will navigate through what happens pre-service, during and post service delivery. In turn, it will enable us to identify areas for improvement so that you have a clear customer plan for the future. It is natural for a project to experience changes, be it with staffing, suppliers or governance. PML will ensure that you are as prepared as you can be for the ‘unexpected’

Specific requirements and areas of key focus will be addressed through the initial consultation

Partnering Advisor

A Partnering Advisor role is about establishing a long term win-win relationship based on mutual trust and teamwork, with the objective being to focus on what each party does best, and establishing specific roles for each participant. If you don’t have the time, know-how or resources, then PML can help

PML Involvement

In order for PML to add value to your business, we need to understand your business needs. Once we are clear about your desired business outcomes, we will suggest the right approach for you. A partnership programme must serve the broader strategic vision, and we intend to develop a strong working relationship in order to ensure we are best placed to deliver your vision for you. The provision of independent advice and support will enable you to create the environment you need to stimulate innovation and improvement in your contractual relationships. PML breaks the traditional mould by incorporating Partnering within all of its core service areas of integration, change, people management and performance, therefore enabling the strategic aims of the business to be met and effecting real efficiency

Operational Development

Establishing coordinated service specific solutions enables quality to remain without compromise within this demanding and ever-changing environment. The key areas that PML can focus on are legal/contractual requirements, facilitation between incoming contractors and the client, production of contract documentation, establishment of key forums, training, processes, development of a price framework, and production and management of the partnering timetable. This list is not exhaustive but provides an overview of the basic framework for the consultancy role

Specific requirements and areas of key focus will be addressed through the initial consultation

Social Value Frameworks

PML are committed to acting in a socially responsible way, and we are just as committed to influencing the organisations that we work with to do the same. Most businesses can operate within a competitive tendering environment, where price is the key driver for the selection of a public sector contract, but social value, or the delivery and awareness of social outcomes, has become increasingly a key focus within the procurement competition

PML Involvement

PML will observe, assess and advise on stakeholder involvement, social inclusion, staff and customer wellbeing, sustainability, local social innovation and entrepreneurship, and reinvestment. We will help embed social value thinking into the procurement of services within public sector commissions that you wish to Bid for, and ensure that the key focus of the client is mirrored within your submission

Operational Development

Social values can often be a criteria that businesses use to assess the course of action and location advantages of a project. It is key to encourage local recruitment of staff and contractors where possible, develop a key knowledge of the local area, amenities and capabilities, and PML will show you where your business may be best placed to add a benefit to the area and allow for areas of future progression

Specific requirements and areas of key focus will be addressed through the initial consultation

Procurement Support

Organisations that procure effectively do so because they are clear about what they want to ‘buy’ and what the market can realistically ‘offer’. Procurement is so much more than a buying process and must be supported with a clear strategy. Furthermore, it is essential that there is a full understanding of client functions and the role of the service provider(s)
